More about me

I've been a professional musician in the Seattle area since 1993 and have had the luck and privledge of playing with some of the finest musicians here and from across the country.  My career has included classical guitar recitals and competitions (1996 3rd place winner, Northwest Guitar Festival), jazz guitar as a soloist and ensemble member, composer, arranger, orchestrator.  Since 2001 I've working as a pit musician and occasional orchestrator for the 5th Ave Theatre, Village Theatre, ACT Theatre.  Bands include Carrie Clark and the Lonesome Lovers, Jazz Police (big band), Jazz Police Special Forces.  I have also played with the Seattle Symphony, Seattle Mens Chorus, and been and active session musician recording for local and national artists as well as a number of film scores.  In addition to guitar, I have been a church organist and choir director since 1993.

Guitar: Rock, Classical, Bluegrass, Folk, Jazz and more! Also: Mandolin, 5 string banjo, ukulele and lap-steel guitar.

Styles of playing affected by Focal Dystonia: Nearly everything. I gave up all finger style playing in 2008 and in the spring of 2011 developed trouble using using a flat pick.  Playing organ, piano and typing on a keyboard is extremely difficult.

Current therapies: Body Mapping and Alexander Technique with guitarist Jerald Harscher; Alexander Technique with Cathy Madden; Rolfing with Sara Bayer.

Other therapies used: Botox at Swedish Medical in Seattle; Feldenkrais and hand therapy with Katherine Plautz, acupuncture with Teri Adolfo at Kerala Ayurveda, Seattle (love that place)
